Tile Details
Hardboard Tiles are unique in that they can be easily trimmed to fit particular spots, they look every bit as good as ceramic tiles are lighter and have a fast production time. They are best suited for presentation only, as they don't hold up to moisture or wear & tear at all. Indoor use only. They should be treated as you would any photograph or painting, a light dusting at the most. There isn’t a need to grout between the tiles, allowing for an almost seamless appearance. You can use any wood glue for adhesion, but the determining factor is what your final surface is made of. Liquid Nails “Projects” has done an excellent job for us, as it will work with a variety of materials, and it is certified green.
Ceramic tiles with our dye transfer process are available in a gloss; satin and matte finish, they provide a brilliant canvas the for best artwork and photo reproduction. Gloss does show watermarks and scratches more easily then the satin or matte, but in the proper place it has a dramatic impact. Not recommended for surfaces which require frequent cleaning. Best used for decorative purposes (walls, pictures, etc.). Grouting not recommended. Gloss tiles can be cleaned with any household non-abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth or sponge.
Satin finish ceramic tile has almost the same resilience and scratch resistance of the matte tile, but with a semi-gloss finish similar to the color reproduction and texture of the glossy tile. These tiles may be used in backsplashes, showers, or wall murals in any room in residential or commercial buildings. However, they are not recommended for floor, countertop, or exterior applications. We recommend un-sanded grout. Tiles can be cleaned with any household non-abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth or sponge.
Matte
has the highest scratch resistant matte finish of the
three. Recommended for vivid photo and art reproduction, it absorbs light and
creates an outstanding look. We recommend un-sanded grout. These
tiles are not recommended for any floor, countertop, or exterior application.

All of the ceramic tiles are installed as you would any other ceramic tile. The importance of using un-sanded grout can’t be emphasized enough, using a sanded grout on our dye transfer process tile could damage the image. Glass Tile! The selection of floor tiles is an area that requires particular
consideration, as the tile chosen needs to be suitable for the particular
installation. These glass tiles are a dynamic alternative to ordinary floor
coverings and are suitable for high-traffic residential and commercial
applications such as kitchens, hallways, foyers, business lobbies, executive
suites, and boardrooms.
The tiles represent a breakthrough in longevity due to placement of the image on
the backside of the tile. This protects the image from wearing away due to foot
traffic. The tiles can also be used for backlit walls, wall murals and
countertop installations.
Glass tile is gaining in popularity over ceramic tile as the surface of choice
in home tiling projects. Glass tile brings depth, luminescence, and a liquid
character to most any of your tile projects. Glass tile adds a handcrafted,
artistic quality that is easily worth the additional cost over ceramic.
Tempered Glass tiles are made to go in the base areas of the flooring and cannot
be cut. Non-tempered tiles go on the edges of the flooring and can be cut, so
for applications where cutting is necessary (corners, holes, etc.), you would
order non-tempered tile. Tempering is added to the larger tiles for strength.
The 6" x 6" tiles met the ANSI and ASTM standards in both tempered and
non-tempered. The 12" x 12" tiles are offered in tempered and
non-tempered, in their installations, you would want to use the tempered tiles
except where cutting is needed. The
non-tempered tile may be cut with a glasscutter, or a tile saw (wet saw
application, diamond blade).

Glass is not always associated with durability, but in truth glass tile can be
just as strong and long lasting as ceramic tile. By nature, glass tile retains
certain properties that make it more resilient than ceramic tile. Glass tile is
not porous, so it does not absorb moisture. Moisture penetration is the enemy of
any tile project since it can spell mold and mildew. There is no such worry with
glass tile as long as it is properly installed.
We recommend using an Epoxy Thin-Set mortar in white for mounting the
textured glass tile in any application. This adhesive should be readily
available in most areas from your big-box stores, and has exhibited superior
bond strength without damaging the white backing on the tiles. A mortar
specifically formulated for use with glass tile such as Mer-Poxy400 or
420 has proven best. Polyblend®
Non-Sanded Grout is specially formulated for the joints between the glass tiles.
